CHARLES CITY COUNTY, VA - COURT - Peter Perry Power of Attorney, 17 May 1695 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Court Records: Peter Perry, Charles Citty Co, VA APPOINTMENT OF ATTORNEY FOR PETER PERRY (1695) BEE IT KNOWN unto all men by these presents that ye I, Peter Perry, of Virginia, merchant for myself & company have made, ordayned, in my stead & place have putt, constituted & by these presents do make, ordayne, in my stead, place, do putt, constitute my truly, well beloved ffriend David Jones of Charles Citty County in Virginia my true, lawfull attorney, giving unto him full power, authority, speciall commission forms, in my name and to my use as aforesaid by all due, lawfull wayes, means whatsoever to call such person/persons in Virginia whosoever to attempt, to take, attempt of them, to receive out of their hands all, singular such sums of mony debts, goods, & merchandises effects, things whatsoever as any person or persons owe unto me as afforsaid, which they have in their hands, custody or possession unto me as aforesaid in any wise belonging or appertaining, also to recover and to receive of any person or persons as of right shall appertain all such sum or sums of mony, goods, debts, efforts & things whatsoever as shall be found due, oweing unto in as aforesaid of all recoveries, receipts, acquittances or other sufficient discharge for me, in my name as afforesaid to make, seale, deliver, if need be for ye premises to appear in all courts before all Lords, governers, judges & justices, to pursue, implead, seize,sequestree, attach, arrest in person, to condemn and out of prison again when need shall be to deliver and generally to doe, finnish, conclude, execute, determine all, every other thing or things whatsoever which more about ye premises shall be needfull, convenient, as fully amply as I, myself, as afforesaid or either of us might or could doe if wee were personally present, holding, firme of vallue whatsoever shall be lawfully done in ye premises by virtue of these presents, and it shall, may be lawfull for ye said David Jones to constitute, ordayne, appoint one or more attorneys as need shall be.
