VA Deed Bk 9, 1801-1803 pg 218 This indenture made this tenth day of May 1803 between George May and Anna his wife of Dinwiddie County of the one part and Edward Moseley Jnr. of Charlotte County both of the state of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of one thousand pounds in hand paid by the said Edward Moseley to the said George May the receipt of is hereby acknowledged, they the said George May and Anna his wife have bargained and sold and these presents do bargain and sell unto said Edward Moseley his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land known by the name of Bibb's ferry now leased to said Moseley and incumbered with the dower of Mrs. Moseley supposed to contain five hundred and twenty one acres of land more or less being the whole of the tract conveyed by Richard Bibb to said May and bounded as will appear by having reference to the title proper. To have and to hold said tract of land with its appurtenances unto the said Edward Moseley his heirs or assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the Edward Moseley and his heirs or assigns and the said George May & Ann his wife for themselves and their heirs the land and premises assoses@ with the Ferry encumbered as aforesaid shall and will warrant and forever defend to the said Moseley his heirs or assigns from all person whatsoever. In witness whereof the said George May & Anna his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year before written. George Moseley L.S. (blank) L.S.
