Nicholas Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia in one hundred and fifty dollars to which payment well and truly to be made to the said William C. Nicholas and his successors, to the use of the commonweath, we bind ourselves, our heirs firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 5th day of February 1816. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage intended to be solomnized between Hickerson Johnson and Anne B.Johnson daughter of James Johnson who consents to same-- If therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same then this obligation to be void else to remain of forced virtue.
