Hunt C Hunts Will } In the Name of God Amen I Charles Hunt being sick and weak, but in sound memory, calling to mind the uncertainty of life, think proper to make my will as followeth. My Soul I recommend unto God and my body to be buried in such Christian manner as my Executors hereafter mentioned shall think proper, as to what Worldly Estate it is pleased God to indow me with I bestow as followeth. Item I leave in the hands of my wife Tabitha Hunt all my personal Estate, both my household staff and Stock of horses Cattle & hogs and Corn to raise my children on 'til the youngest comes of Age or is Married. my will and desire is that my Estate then shall be divided. the one third part I give to my wife Tabitha, the other two thirds to be equally divided [betwixt?] my five Children, Viz, James Mary Ann Sarah Elizabeth and Nancy Share and Share alike I do appoint my wife Tabitha Hunt and David Hunt my Executors of this my last Will and Testament As Witness my hand and Seal this 15th day of October 1785 Charles Hunt {L S} Signed Sealed in presence of John Hoggatt, Joseph Hunt At a Court held for Charlotte County the 1 day of September 1788. The within written Last Will and Testament of Charles Hunt deceased was exhibited in Court by Tabitha Hunt the Widow and Executrix herein named and the same was proved by the oath of John Hoggatt and Joseph Hunt the witnesses unto Subscribed and ordered to be Recorded. On the motion of the said Executrix who made oath according to Law, Certificate is granted her in obtaining a probat[sic] of the said Will in due form, she giving Security whereupon she with Jacob Huntsman, Joseph Ward and Edmund Lumpton her Securities, entered unto and acknowledged their Bond for that purpose Reserving liberty to David Hunt the other Executor to join in the probat[sic] hereof when he shall think fit.
