That is to say, I direct as soon after my decease as may be convenient that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. Item 1st. I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary my entire Estate of every description both real and personal during her life. 2nd. From and after her decease I give unto my son Nathan S. Moon a portion of my tract of land viz. Beginning at the line fence adjoining Garland Berkley nearly at the corner line of S. Berkley and Jordan Robertson about 1/4 of mile south of my dwelling house at the old road, thence along the road nearly north as the road and fence runs above mu house until it reaches a gate near a spring then leaving the road and following the fence n. West to Hamlets line so as to include all the land lying in a westerly direction from the above mentioned course together with the residence and all the buildings on said tract of land which I suppose contains about 130 acres, which I give unto the said Nathan S. Moon his heirs forever. 3rd. I then give unto my other children viz. William S. Stephen S. John & Mary Hamlet and Mahala Deanor the remainder of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided among them. I hereby appoint Wm. M. Hamlet my executor to this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 9th day of February 1856. Stephen Moon (seal) Witness John A. Hamlet Thomas Brizendine At a court held for the County of Charlotte the 1 day of June 1857 The foregoing will and testament of Stephen Moon decd was this day produced in court by Wm M. Hamlet the executor herein and the same was proved by the oath of John A. Hamlet one of the subscribing witnesses hereto and ordered to be certified. And at another court held for said county the 6th day of July 1857 The foregoing last will and testament of Stephen Moon decd was again produced in court and it was further proved by the oath of Thomas Brizendine the other subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded- And on the motion of William M. Hamlet who took the oath of office and together with John O. Armistead his security who justified to his sufficiency & is deemed sufficient by the Court entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of six hundred dollars for the due and faithful discharge of the duties of his office or trust a certificate is granted the said William M.
