Charlotte County, Virginia will of Samuel Moore 1796/1797 Submitted by Kathy Welder 26 September 1998 The Will of Samuel Moore, Charlotte Co. WB 2, pg.102 Dated Sept. 17, 1796  Proven April 3, 1797 In the name of god, Amen, I Samuel Moore Senior being weak of body tho of sound mind & perfect memorie make this my last will & testament, in the manner following I leave to my wife ELIZABETH Margaret Moore during her natural life or widowhood, One half of the remainder of my tract of land including the house & plantation after 100 acres of the said land shall be taken out, which I hearafter give to my son GEORGE Moore, I also leave unto my said wife during her life, a bed & furniture and the remainder of my household & kitchen furniture, all my stocks of horses, cattle, sheep, hoggs and plantation utensils.  After her decease I desire the stocks, furniture & remainder be sold and the money arising therefrom, be equally divided betwixt my three daughters, ELIZABETH, RACHEL & MARTHA Moore or the survivors of them.  I give to my son George Moore the above mentioned 100 acres to be laid off adjoining the land of ROBERT Moore, George Walker and Alexander Berkely, to him the said George Moore, his heirs or assignees forever.  I give unto my son SAMUEL Moore the half of the remainder of my tract of land to be immediatly possessed by him, and the half given to my wife after her decease or remarry, to my son Samuel Moore, his heirs or asignees forever.  I also give unto Samuel Moore a bed & furniture and the debts due unto me.  I give unto my daughter JEANE Moore, two young horses that she hath for sometime in her possession, a bed & furniture, a cow & calf. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Moore a bed & furniture. I give unto my daughter Martha Moore a bed & furniture. I give unto my daughter Rachel Moore a bed & furniture, a young bay horse, and ten pounds cash.  I give unto my daughter MARY HUNTER,  and sons JOHN Moore, ROBERT Moore & Thomas Moore, five shillings each.
