Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, August 8, 1991 
Lillie J. Burks, 74, of the 3100 block of Petre Court, died Aug. 6, 1991, in a
Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Burks was born in Norfolk. She had retired from the receiving department at
the Norfolk Naval Base after 36 years. She was a member of First Baptist
Church-Campostella in Norfolk.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara B. Clark and Jacquelin Burks of
Wilmington, Del.; a son, Leroy N. Burks Jr. of Delaware; a sister, Mary Brooks
of Chesapeake; three brothers, Paul Jones and James Jones, both of Norfolk, and
Freddie Jones of New York; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist
Church-Campostella by the Rev. Harold Cason. Burial will be in Roosevelt
Memorial Park. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Pretlow &
Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
