Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, July 8, 2000 
Estella Otey , 104, of the 6500 block of Whitehorn Drive, died July 6, 2000.

Born in Gloucester County, Va., she retired as a domestic. She was a member of
Mount Gilead Baptist Church, where she was a church mother, deaconess,
missionary and member of the Senior Citizen Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Whitney, Catherine Dailey, and B.
Juanita Banks, all of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six
great-great-grandchildren; a nephew; and numerous cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Mount Gilead Baptist Church by the
Rev. Byron Collins. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
Friends will be received at the residence. The procession will leave the
residence on Monday for the church. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
