Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, June 16, 2004 
Lucille G. Walker of the 800 block of W. 37th St., died June 11, 2004, at Tandem
Health Care. Born in Florence, S.C., she was retired from Old Dominion
University as a food service worker. She was a founding member of Bethel
Apostolic Church.

The widow of Sampson Walker , S.C., she is survived by three daughters,
Katherine Fletcher of Norfolk, Constance Myles and husband David of Newport News
and Theresa Walker of Norfolk; two sons, Sampson Walker Jr. and wife Deloris and
Malachi V. Walker, both of Norfolk; a brother, Alex George Sr. of Effingham,
S.C.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bertha
George.

A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Bethel Apostolic Church by Pastor
Thomasine McClendon. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will
be ready for viewing Thursday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. and will be placed in church
at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will assemble at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, at 12:30 p.m. for the procession. www.carlosahowardfuneralhome.com.
