Joseph Myers. Burial was in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery with Mosley Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Whitmore, a native of Scotland Neck, NC, died March 29 in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness. He was a son of Benjamin H. and Mrs. Priscilla Clark Whitmore and the husband of the late Mrs. Clara Whitmore. The deceased, a member of First Baptist Church, Campostella, was retired from Norfolk and Western Railway Coal Piers. Surviving are three sons, Benjamin H. Whitmore, Lathan Whitmore and Alphonso Whitmore; and two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Lathan and Mrs. Ethel Hill of Chesapeake; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
