DESCRIPTION:

The Covington graveyard is located on the old Covington farm, known as “Breezy 
Hill”, which overlooks the Appomattox River.  The graveyard itself lies about 
six hundred feet to the rear of the house.  However, through lack of attention, 
it has become a veritable jungle, covered with a very dense growth of 
honeysuckle and vines hanging from the boughs of ancient and gigantic trees, 
giving a tropical atmosphere which enhances the rustic beauty of the place.

Here are many tombstones, some of which are hidden away among the heavy growth 
of vines and grass, almost completely escaping attention.
