CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Ettrick Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Ettrick Cemetery: 1936 Oct. 2 Research made by Craig Romaine Cemetery Location: .5 miles west of Jackson Avenue, Ettrick, Virginia Chesterfield County DATE: Approximately 1820 OWNERS: Public, by individual plot. DESCRIPTION: The Ettrick cemetery is located in a remote section on the outskirts of the little town from which it takes its name and many of whose former inhabitants are therein buried. It does not have the well kept appearance of a public cemetery; weed and grass have been allowed to run pell-mell over the place, and some of the older tombstones are almost entirely obliterated. For generations persons from nearby farms and from the village of Ettrick have been buried here and there are many tombstones of varying sizes marking their graves.
