Cemetery Location:  4 miles northeast of Chester, Virginia. .3 of a mile east on 
                    Route #1.
                    Chesterfield County

OWNERS:

Here are buried many members of the Hatcher family, who were the original owners 
of the historic and renowned Half-Way House which stands but a very short 
distance to the north.

DESCRIPTION:

This old graveyard, located a very short distance from the rushing and noisy 
traffic which incessantly moves along the Richmond and Petersburg Turnpike, lies 
among ancient pines, in the heart of the woods.

Around the entire graveyard, which, despite its location, is kept cleared of any 
undesirable growth, a deep trench has been dug, presumable, to isolate it from 
the surrounding forest.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

There are many tombstones here, each well preserved and each bearing a very 
legible inscription.
