OWNERS: (blank) DESCRIPTION: None. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: In a large plot near the outer boundary of Maury Cemetery stands a triangular granite monument on which is inscribed simply the word ERECTED BY ELLIOTT GRAYS CHAPTER U.D.C. 1930 In this same plot, a few feet to the right of the monument, stands the only tombstone here – that of John Callan. The inscription is given below. Near here, it is said, are some three hundred graves which are unmarked and unidentified. In Memory of John Callan Departed this life 15 July 1847 In the 25 year of his age Remember, Friends, as you pass by As you are now so once was I, As I am now so you shall be; Prepare for death and follow me.
