Chesterfield County DATE: 1802 OWNERS: Individual plot ownership. DESCRIPTION: Maury Cemetery dates back to 1874; however, there are many tombstones antedating that year. This may be accounted for by the fact that many bodies were brought here from private graveyards. In the oldest part of the cemetery, beneath ancient oaks, there is a monument with inscriptions appearing on the north, south and west sides.
