DESCRIPTION: In an open field and approximately 600 feet to the rear of the home of Mr. Charles Cole and his daughter, Miss L.T. Cole, lies an old graveyard shaded by large old trees and surrounded by an iron fence. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Here are many tombstones, the inscriptions on which are given below: John R. Robinson April 5, 1825 June 15, 1863 Eliza T. Atkins Wife of John R. Robinson Born Baddesley, England Aug. 6, 1831 Sept. 15, 1888 In Memory of Catharine Lively Died Aug. 3, 1858 Aged 38 years Farewell, dearest Sister, we hope to meet thee When the day of life is fled, Then in Heaven with joy to greet thee Where no farewell tear is shed. In Memory of William Robinson Sr. Died Nov. 3, 1857 Aged 74 years Farewell, dearest father, thou hast left us And thy loss we deeply feel, But this God that has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. Sacred to the memory of Mary Robinson Wife of William Robinson a Native of England Died Decr. 24, 1844 Aged 51 Years Leaving a Husband & six children to mourn her sadly death Elizabeth Daughter of William & Mary Robinson Born Feb. 14th 1823 Died Sep. 22nd, 1832 Mary Daughter of Wm. & Mary Robinson Born Aug. 22nd, 1830 Died Nov. 4th 1832 Sacred to the memory of Robert Williams Son of William Robert and Ann Williams Natives of North Wales, Great Britain. Born in the year of our Lord 1820 and departed this Life on the 15th May, 1854 Aged 34 years. Leaving a wife and three children to mourn their unfortunate bereavement. The deceased came to his death in one of the Blackheath Pits by one of those fearful calamities which are of such frequent occurrence in the annals of Coat Mining. The explosion of Gas, by which on this occasion 19 others were hurried into eternity. “A Faithful friend, a father dear, A Loving husband lieth here. In Love he lived, in peace he died, Life was desired, by God denied”. Obituary Here lie the Children of William & Amanda A.
