CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Tomahawk Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Tomahawk cemetery: 1936 Nov. 18 Research made by Craig Romaine Cemetery Location: Corner Genito and Hundred Roads, twelve miles west of Richmond, Va., near or on Route #360. Chesterfield County DATE: 1810 OWNERS: (blank) DESCRIPTION: The Tomahawk Cemetery is located near the site of the original Tomahawk Baptist Church, which was rebuilt several years ago beside Route #360. The steps of the old church remain, but the building itself is gone, and nothing is left to distinguish the site from the surrounding wilderness but the cemetery. Here are many tombstones, all in good condition, and enclosed by a wire fence. Within the enclosure are several large deciduous trees, which lend a quiet beauty to the little cemetery, and which must have been there when the church was erected. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were copied from the tombstones: Ella Van Allen Wife of George T. Fredenburg Born May 1, 1864 Died Oct. 19, 1897 In Memory of Junius A.
