OWNERS: Christopher Branch, 1619. Remained since in the Branch family. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Below is given the inscription on a monument erected in memory of some of the Branch ancestors. This monument stands at “Willow Hill”, and marks “The grave in the wilderness”, surely an appropriate title: In memory of Thomas Branch, of Willow Hill Son of Capt. Benj. and Ann Bass Branch. Born April 4, 1767, Died Sept. 10, 1818 and others of the family buried here. Erected in 1927 by Blythe Walker Branch, John Kerr Branch, and Margaret Branch Glasgow, Children of John Patterson Branch, and Great grandchildren of Thomas Branch of Willow Hill.
