The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Sarah Farmer Return of Dower - March 9, 1858 In pursuance of an order of Chesterfield County Court made at its January term 1858, we the undersigned Commissioners after being duly sworn for the purpose proceed to lay off and assign to Mrs. Sarah Farmer twenty-four acres of land more or less with the mansion house as her dower and thirds in a tract of land formerly belonging to her deceased husband, David Farmer, but purchased by Mr. William Robertson before decedent's death, said land lying and being in Chesterfield County and bounded by the lands of said Robertson and others.
