Walthall Deed - October 8, 1827 The indenture made and entered into the eighth day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between David Farmer and Sally A. Farmer his wife, of the one part and John Hobbs of the other part, all of Chesterfield County. Witnesseth that the said David Farmer and Sally A. Farmer, his wife, for and in consideration of one hundred and sixty seven and a half dollars of lawful money of this Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said John Hobbs at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said John Hobbs his heirs and assigns a certain tract, piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Chesterfield adjoining the lands of the said John Hobbs and others, containing thirty three and a half acres to the acre more or less. It being that tract, piece or parcel of land held by the said David Farmer and his wife Sally A. Farmer (formerly Sally A. Walthall). In virtue of a deed from William Walthall to his daughter, the Sally A. Farmer, formerly Sally A. Walthall, together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereon belonging or on anywise appertaining and the revision and revisions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents, issues, and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said tract, piece or parcel of land containing thirty three and a half acres of the same, more or less, as aforesaid with the tenements here detailed and all and singular other the previous herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with every right and remainder and appurtenances unto the said John Hobbs, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said David Farmer and Sally A. Farmer, his wife, for themselves and their heirs, the said tract, piece or parcel of land containing thirty three acres and a half be the same more or less as aforesaid with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned and the said John Hobbs, his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them, the said David Farmer and Sally A. Farmer, his wife, or either of them, their or either of their heirs, and all and every person or persons whatsoever shall with do warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof, the said David Farmer and Sally A. Farmer, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
