Heath's Regt Chesterfield County Widow Mary Amelia County Amelia County September court 1786 It appearing to the court that John Belcher a soldier under Col. Heath in the continental service died in German Town while a pensioner in the year 1780 and his widow Mary Belcher together with five children are now living in this county in indigent circumstances having neither lands nor taxes. It is ordered that the same be certified to the executive. S. Holmet(?) I do with the advice of this council certify that Mary Belcher, widow of John Belcher who was a private in the detachment of the Virginia Line commanded by Col. Heath and died in the service of the United States is entitled to the sum of twelve pounds yearly to commence from the first day of January 1787.
