Shepherd who died in the service of this State as a soldier from this County. Ordered that the same be certified. Copy teste: B. Watkins Clk. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Anne Shepherd orphan of William Shepherd late a private in the Chesterfield Militia and who died in the service of the United States and that she is entitled to the sum of five pounds yearly; which allowance is accordingly made her to commence from the first day of January 1786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 9th day of May 1788. T.
