Enlisted August 1, 1814 and discharged Feb 4 1815. Residence of soldier 1851 in Ballard County Kentucky, and 1871 in Ballard co., KY, at Columbus ( Hickman County) KY. Maiden name of wife was Nancy Nunley, the marriage of soldier and widow or wife Sept 1811 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Wife died prior to July 5, 1871. Declaration made in Graves County, Kentucky January 28 1851 by Benjamin Farmer, age 61, a resident of Ballard county, KY, states he was a private under Capt Turner? or Lawson? Burfoot? In the first regiment of Virginia troops, under Brig General Robert Paterfield or Porterfield, that he volunteered in Chesterfield Co, VA about Sept 3 1814 for six months and discharged at Camp Holly in VA Feb 3 1815. He also made declaration in Ballard Co., KY, July 5, 1871, stating his wife was named Nancy Nunley, now deceased, to whom he was married in Chester- field Co., VA Sept 1811; that he enrolled in Capt Lawson Buffords Company. His original discharge was filed, but it was too faded to try and read.
