Brothers Rites Tomorrow Funeral service for John David Brothers, 65, who died Wednesday at his home, 2004 Evelyn Byard Road, will be held at 3 P. M. Saturday at Berryman Methodist Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Chester. A native of Burgaw, N. C., he was active in business here for 35 years. An active member of Berryman Methodist Church, he served on its board of stewards for more than 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tidie M. Brothers, two brothers, H. H. and W. H. Brothers and the following children: J. David Brothrs, Mrs. Robert L. Cleveland, and Miss Grace E. Brothers, of Richmond; Colonel Clyde L. Brothers, of Tampa, Fla; Private Percy M. Brothers, of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Catherine B. Yunkers, of Washington. Also Herbert H. Brothers, Muskogee, Okla; Walter R. Brothers, Valdosta, Ga., and Earl T. Brothers, Bainbridge, Ga.; and four stephchildren, William R. and G. H. Kirks, of Richmond; J. R. Kirks, United States Naval Training School, Bainbridge, Md., and Mrs. Roy S. Kegley, Hopewell; and four grandchildren. Additional Comments: John David Brothers was born in Burgaw, Pender County, NC on 7 Dec 1878 and was the son of Henry G. Brothers and Kate Catherine Penny of Burgaw, NC. John David Brothers and Tidie May Johnson Kirks were married 21 Aug 1916 in Richmond, VA. Tidie May Johnson was the daughter of William Ross and Mildred Johnson of Prince George County, VA. Tidie May Johnson was first married to George H. Kirks. John David Brothers was first married to Hattie C. Gardner on 9 Jun 1901 in Norfolk County, VA.
