IN THE NAME of God Amen I Benjamin Beasley of Chesterfield County being sick in body But of sound memory & in my perfect sences do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament in the manner & form following viz To my Son Peter & his Heirs forever I give & bequeath a certain Tract of Land lying in the County of Amelia between deep Creek & little Creek adjoining the Lands of my Brother Peter Beasley with all Woods Waters etc. thereto appertaining & belonging. Item. To my Son Daniel & his Heirs forever I give & bequeath another tract of Land lying in the aforesaid County of Amelia on the south side of deep Creek adjoining the Lands of Nathan Fletcher & George Davenport with all Woods Waters etc. thereto belonging & appertaining. Item. To my beloved wife Obedience I leave the tract of Land whereon I now live situated in the County of Chesterfield with the following Negroes Nell Moses Jack & Bowser to continue in possession of my said wife during her Life & after her Decease I do bequeath the said tract of Land to my Son Samuel & his Heirs forever & the above mentioned Negroes Nell Moses Jack & Bowser to be divided among my Children as soon as my son Peter arrives at the Age of twenty one years. Item. To my Son Thomas & his Heirs forever I do bequeath a tract of Land I purchased of Nathan & Benjamin Horner lying in the said County of Chesterfield adjoining the Lands of Daniel Horner Archibald Cary & the Lands of the said Nathan & Benjamin Horner with all the Woods Waters etc. thereto appertaining & belonging. The remainder of my Estate consisting of Negroes Stock Money & every thing else to me appertaining I leave to be equally divided among my other Children both Sons & Daughters at the time my said Son Peter arrives at the age of manhood But in case either of my Daughters should marry before that time my will is that two Negroes from the Estate to be lent to my Daughter so marrying to continue in her possession till the time my said Son Peter is of Age at which time the Negroes so lent are to be divided equally with the rest of my Estate among all my Children. To my Daughter Susannah in case of marriage I do lend Lyddy & Joe & to my Daughter Obedience in case of marriage I do lend Judy & John & to my Daughter Tabitha in case of Marriage I do lend Edy & Sam. AND I do likewise order a Horse & Sadle to be given to each of my Daughters at the time of their marriage which shall be considered as their proportion of Horses from the Estate. It is also my Desire that my said Daughters Susannah Obedience & Tabitha shall pay twenty five pounds each to their Brother Thomas at the time the Estate is divided. AND as I have reason to believe my said wife Obedience is now with Child my will is that if the said unborn Child be a Boy one hundred pounds shall be paid to the said Boy by the rest of my Children equally at the time the Estate is divided but if the unborn Child is a Girl my Desire is that she may Share in my Estate with my other Daughters. Lastly my will is that if either of my Sons die under Age that their proportion of land do go the Surviving Brothers equally & the rest of their Estates to be divided equally among their Brothers & Sisters And if either of my Daughters die before marriage their proportion of the Estate to be equally divided among the surviving Sisters & Brothers. Last of all I do appoint Mathew Cheatham James Furguson Daniel Horner Peter Beasley & Stephen Beasley as Exors. to this my last Will & Testament And I desire that my Estate may not be appraised.
