In the name of God amen I William Beasley of Chesterfield County being weak and sickly in body but of Sound and memory, and calling to mind the mortality of mankind that is appointed for all ones to die. do ordain nominate and declare this to be my Last will and testament revoking all other will made by me. 1st. My will and desire is that my estate be kept together untill the death of my wife Rhody Beasley and after her decease, I wish to have it equally divided between six of my children (viz) Edmond, Obedience, Elizabeth, John, Daniel, Milton, except one feather bed and furniture, which I give to my Grandaughter Martha Jordan to her and her heirs forever. And I do nominate and appoint my friend Ric'd. Elam Executor of this my last will and testament. Given under my hand and seal this 29th day of Dec'r. 1837. The last will and testament of William Beasley deceased was proved by the oath of John Hill a subscribing witness and continued for further proof. And in said Court May the 14th 1838 the said will was again presented in Court and further proved by the oath of Francis B. Cheatham a subscribing witness & ordered to be recorded.
