The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will of CHARLES COUSINS recorded in Chesterfield County Virginia Will Book 1 page 78/79/80 land/grant orginal in Henrico co VA before 1749 possiable some extended in Prince George later Amelia co VA In the name of God Amen I Charles Cousins of Chesterfield county and Parrish of Dale being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God , do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following First I give devise and bequeath to my son Charles Cousins to him and his heirs forever one hundred seventy five acres of land be the sum more or less being all that I own on the lower side of Middle Creek in the county of AMELIA also a negro boy named Frank. Also I give devise and bequeath unto my son George Cousins to him and his heirs forever one hundred and fifty acres of land on the north side of Yowls Branch including part of Nottoway Run in the County of Chesterfield also a negro boy named Sam also a suit of broad cloth Cloaks and a Jersey loose Coat and two leather chairs. Also I give devise and bequeath unto my son William Cousins to him and heirs forever Two hundred and eighty acres of land lying on both sides the Upper Fork of Middle Creek in the County of AMELIA aforesaid also one negro man named Tom also one feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves from my son Charles his Plantation four Pewter dishes six plates and one Iron pott also a stuff coat and pair of breaches and milled Duffill loose coat and two leather chairs. Also I devise and bequeath unto my son John Cousins to him and his heirs forever the Plantation whereupon I now live, together with all the land adjoining there to now in my possession in the county of Chesterfield aforesaid also a negro boy named Jack also two cows and calves, a copper kettle an a list of --- Drugget and loose Coat of broad Cloth my Carpenters tools and Coopers Tools six sheep and two leather chairs and it is my desire that my still may not be removed but that my son George and John may have an equal part of the profit arising from the use there of. Also I give unto my son Robert Cousins and to his heirs forever one negro woman named Hannah with all her increase. (transcrbers note it was customary for the eldest son to have recieved his land first, so there fore it was not necessary for his land to be willed to him, as he would hav inheirted it all had there not been a will by law , Robert owned lived an died on his land in AMELIA county below Deep Creek an his will recorded in 1769 to his 3 sons) Also I give unto my daughter Judith WEBSTER and to the heirs of her body Lawfully begotton forever one negro woman named Jane with all her increase also one feather ded and furnithure. Also I give unto my daughter Rose Grant and to the heirs of her body lawfully begotton forever one negro girl named Mutty with all her increase also one feather bed and furniture two pewter dishes tow basons and six plates Also I give unto my daughter Ann Overby an to the heirs of her body lawfully begotton forever one negro girl named Sarah with all her increase also one feather bed and furniture belonging thereto standing the spinning room two pewter dishes two basons and two plates. Also I give unto my daughter Amy Vaughn and to the heirs of herbody lawfully begotten forever one negro woman named Dorothy with all her increase Also I give to my daughter Elizabeth Traylor and to the heris of her body lawfully begotten forever one negro girl named Lucy with all her increase also the trundel bed and furniture thereto standing the outward room and one large iron pot. Also Igive unto my daughter Mary Wilson and to the heirs of her body lawfully forever one negro boy named Tommy also four pewter dishes and six plates. Also the residue of my estate not yet given away I desire may be equally devided between my three youngest sons George william and John also desire that my estate many not be appraised and that my Executors hereafter named pay all my just debts and funeral expences.And Lastly I do nominate and appoint my two sons Robert and Charles Cousins aforesaid Exectors of this my last will and testament hereby revolking all other wills by me heretofore made either by word or writeing, Ratify and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of December in the year of our lord Christ One Thousand seven hundred and fifty two.
