Item. It is my desire that my land and plantation in Chesterfield county with all other of my estate both real and personal, be sold and equally divided between my eight children Sarah Perdue, Delphy Perdue, Jency Perdue, Paskill Perdue, Allay Perdue, Nancy Perdue, Josiah Perdue and Isham Perdue to them and their heirs forever - Item. It is my desire that my estate be not appraised - Item. I do hereby constitute my trusty friend Isham Clay and my brother John Perdue executors of this my last will and testament revoking all others by me made as witness my hand and seal this 1st day of July 1794 - Acknowledge viz} presence of Thomas Burford Josiah (hisXmark) Perdue (seal) William Farguson John Morrils Will bk 4, pg. 605 Additional Comments: Josiah and brother John Perdue were sons of Richard Perdue. Richard Perdue shows up in the records of Henrico Co., VA as early as 1736. He purchased land on Worsham's Creek in 1753 and gave his son Josiah Perdue 100 acres of this land in 1773. Speculation Josiah Perdue married to a "Clay" and she was deceased when he wrote his Will.
