The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net Thomas Farmer Will - November 18, 1821 I, Thomas Farmer, Senior of Chesterfield County do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, viz: Imprimis, I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Farmer one tract or parcel of land lying on the south side of a small branch* and bounded by the land of Robert McLelland, Nelson Farmer and the estate of Ebenezar Farmer to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Farmer the tract or parcel of land whereon I now live as there is no line between this tract and the tract whereon my father lived, it's my desire that the line be as follows: to a corner on a poplar on Kingsland Creek which poplar was chopt by my father for a corner between my tract and his thence in direction of the present fence, thence from the corner of the fence a south course to the road, thence up the road to a the path** that leads from my house to the road, thence from the road a south course to him and his property. Item, I give and bequeath to my son Abner Farmer the tract or parcel of land whereon he now lives: the line to be between Stephen's and Abner's as above described, to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to my son David/Daniel Farmer a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Chesterfield County, containing ninety-one acres and a half and bounded by the lands of Daniel Chalkley, Obediah Hatcher, William Beasely's estate and Gerrard Brown's estate to him and his heirs forever. * This branch makes through the lands of Robert McLelland ** This path is about a south course from my dwelling house Item, I give and bequeath to my wife Lucy Farmer the whole of my personal estate during life or widowhood, if she should not remain a widow (or at her death) I desire it to be distributed in manner and form following, viz.: Item, I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Farmer one feather bed and furniture also one bridle and saddle to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to my son David/Daniel Farmer one feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Viney Farmer one Negroe girl named Mary also one born to her and her heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to Rebeca Farmer, widow of my son Pleasant Farmer, deceased, one shilling, to her and her heirs forever. It is my will and desire the remainder of my estate not before described to be equally divided between my sons Stephen Farmer and Abner Farmer, them and their heirs forever. I desire that my estate should not be appraised. Lastly, I constitute and appoint Stephen Farmer and Nelson Farmer executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills and testaments heretofore by me made.
