In the name of God amen, I James Webb being sick in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and declare this to be my last will and testament, revoking all former wills. First. I do direct that all my property both real and personal be exposed to sale by my Executor as soon after my death as she may think proper. Second. I do direct that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid. Third. I will and direct that my Executrix put one thousand dollars of the proceeds of the sale of my estate after the debts are paid, in some good State Stock or saving institution, the interest of which shall be drawn regularly for the support and education of my children Sarah Jane Webb, James Henry Webb and John Wesley Webb, and if either of my above mentioned children should die without issue before they arrive at the age of twenty one years, I bequeath their portion to the survivors. And I do direct that my wifes brother William A. Peade(?) shall take possession of the thousand dollars to hold for the benefit of my children If my wife should ever mary. Fourth. I do hereby constitute give to my beloved wife Lucinda Caroline Webb the residue of my estate. Fifth. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Lucinda Caroline Webb Executrix to this my last Will.And having full confidence in her capacity and discretion I do dispense with her giving security. Sixth. I do request my Executrix to consult with my friend Benjamin Lundy in the settlement of my estate and for the trouble he may undergo I do direct my Executrix to pay to him the sum of Fifty dollars out of the residuary portion left to her. Seventh. I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Testamentary Guardian to my infant children and direct that no security shall be required of her. Witness my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifty in the County of Chesterfield State of Virginia. Glover Hannah Cooper In Chesterfield County Court December the 9th 1850 This last Will and Testament of James Webb deceased was presented in Court and proven by the oaths of Thomas Dunn Charles J. Glover and Hannah Cooper subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. On motion of Lucinda Caroline Webb executrix therein named who entered into bond without security (none being required) conditioned as the law directs and took the oath required by law certificate is granted for obtaining letters probat of said Will in due form.
