Gentlemen, Your esteemed favor of the 12th ult. is before me and I am sorry a payment could not conveniently be made by you as I have never experienced so serious a want of money. I am not at present in the purchase of Wheat. Nor is it in my power to procure you a commission now -- should I hereafter have the opportunity I will instantly communicate it to you or to your Mr. Ford in Port Tobacco. But it is my opinion that you cannot suffer in your purchase of good wheat at /11 Maryland money per bushel. But on the contrary make a __________ and I should be easy that my asking a payment should in any shape operate to lessen your purchases. If you will send me your note at 30 ds (days?) negotiable at The Bank of Alexandria for the amount of my orders and include the discount to the time due, it shall answer to me every purpose as the Cash, and be of great relief to me -- I am, respectfully, Gentlemen, Yrmo. ob. Servant Wm Taylor
