De Maine Services Tomorrow Morning At Catholic Chapel in Alexandria High requiem mass for Charles W. DeMaine, Proprietor of DeMaine & Co.'s paint and oil store, at 3213 M street northwest, will be celebrated tomorrow morening at the DeMaine Catholic Chapel, Alexandria, Va., of which his father was the founder. The funeral will leave the family residence at 3202 Wisconsin avenue northwest at 8:30 o'clock and proceed to the chapel in Alexandria. The Rev. Father Cutler will conduct the service and the burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Mr. DeMaine died yesterday morning at his residence, on Wisconsin avenue, after an illness of nearly ten years, during the last two of which he was confined to his room. His condition had been very low for the last two weeks and his death was not unexpected. A native of Alexandria, Mr. DeMaine came to this city while still a young man and took up the study of telegraphy. He was employed with the Western Union as an operator for a number of years until he went on the road for the Sherwin Williams Paint Company as a travelling salesman. Upon his marriage, however, in 1895, he resigned his position with them and shortly afterward opened the DeMaine & Co paint store in Georgetown, with his wife as a partner. During the last two years, while his illness made it impossible for him to leave his house, Mrs. DeMaine managed the business herself. Mr. DeMaine leaves besides his wife, one son, one sister, a father, and four brothers.
