CRAIG COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Lodowick Thomas, 15 Aug 1775 ----¤¤¤---- Will of Lodowick Thomas Botetourt, County, Virginia Will Book A, Page 91 Proved: September 1778 In the name of god Amen August the 15th one thousand Seven Hundered and Seventy Five. I Lodowick Thomas of the County of Botetourt and Parish afs'd in the Colony of Virginia Being in Perfect Health and Sound Mind and Memory But Colling to the mind the Mortallity of my Body do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament. First I Recommend my soul to god Who gave it in Humble Hopes of Eternal Happiness through the Merrts of my Redeamer and my Body I give to the Earth to Be Burred in a Christian Like and Deccent Manner at the Will of My Executors Hereafter Mentioned Not Doubting But I Shall Receive the Same Again at the General Resurrection By the Mighty power of god and as Touching Such Worldley Estate as Which it Hath Pleas'd god to Bless me With in this Life I Devise and Despose of the Same in Following Manner and form Imprimus it is my Will that all my Just Debts and Funeral Charges Be paid out of my personal Estate. Item I give and Bequeth Unto my Daughter Magdalin Runnills Two Survais of Land one Where I formerly Live'd on Containing Two Hundred Acres adjoining John Caldwell and one of one Hundred Acres on the North Fork of John's Creek and Joins or Near Gasper Servers Land to have And to Hold the Said Two Tracts of land Her and Her heirs Forever. As allso one gray mare and Colt and one Still in possession of Wm. Caldwell As also all the Remainder of My Estate. item I give and Bequath to my Daughters Margaret Christian Elizabeth and my Sun Abraham Thomas and my Daughters Mary and Cathrine Five Shillings Each if Demanded it is allso My Will that my Estate Should Not Be appars'd. And that my Executor Administrator Should Not Be Held to Bail. I do Hereby appoint my Trusty and Well Beloved Friend John Rennnels Executor of this My Last Will and Testament and I do hereby Revoke and Make Void all other Wills and Testaments By me Made and do publish pronounce and Decleare this to be my Last Will and Testament in Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set My hand and Seal the Day and year Just Above Written.
