While the church and the yards were maintained, the church appeared to be shut down. The brick mounted sign out front had no lettering or anything to indicate the church was still in use. There were roughly twenty graves, sort of scattered across the yard, from right up beside the road to way down the hill in a copse of trees. Alot of the graves were sunken in, with the stones tilted at odd angles. The oldest grave (meaning the first buried) dates back to the 1930's. Out of all the graves, there was one marker that was unreadable due to the lettering having been worn off. However, someone knows who it belongs to because there was a small wooden cross and 'fresh' artificial flowers mounted against the grave. ****** SURNAME: Gray There was a set of five graves that were interesting in that on four of them, the names and dates were hand-carved/scratched and the fifth one, (I believe a member of the same family) while grouped with the other Grays was done professionally. These graves are: Fred Gray 1887 - 1938 Idella Gray 1893 - 1933 Wesley Gray 1848 - (death date was not readable) Ella Gray (dates were not readable) The professionally carved stone belongs to: Carrington M.
