I walked through a cow pasturee and broken fencing to get to it. An Exhaustive walk uphill through four to five foot weeds the thistle. There is no road up to the cemetery which is in ruins with most of the headstones gone. One very large stone survives with several names on it and the name GAINES (see below for names on stone.) There was a broken fence around the small plot with cows walking through it. A disgrace. The property was for sale (1995) with sewers already in and a developer would likely go in and bull doze what is left of this family cemetery. The original home was about 1/4 mile from the cemetery and was the home of Reuben Gaines a Revolutionary War patriot, son of Rev. Henry Gaines. Name of the old home was "Locust Hill." Original home burned down and another erected in the 1840s according to the renter at the home. This home is also in a shambles and will likely be torn down when property is torn down. With the exception of the one large stone mentioned above, all the other stones are approximately 2+ feet in height. They are white stones with only initials carved on them. I have filled in their names below. They are listed in order of placement. I have photos of some of them. 1. L.B.M.G. 2. R.G. 3. Unknown 4. E.P.B. 5. E.B.G.B. 6. A.F.G. 7. E.R.G. 8. M.S.G. 9. S. M.
