He was therefore born in 1756. He served as a private in the 1st Virginia regiment. He married Phoebe Ostin February 27, 1791. He died March 2i7, 1844. The widow, Phoebe Ostin Freeman, applied for pension in Culpeper County, August 22, 1844, when she was 79 years old.
