The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** The following obituary is from a newspaper titled "The Exponent", dated 22 July, 1887, published in Culpeper, VA.: "A distressing accident occured about two miles from Rochelle, on Wednesday, June 22. Mr. Jas. Hanceley, of Rockingham county who was on his wasy, in a wagon drawn by two mules, to his fam in this county, was drowned in a branch of the Rapidan river, which had been swollen by heavy rains. His body has never been recovered. He was 72 years old. One of the mules was found hanging over Curtis Wilhoit's mill damn, the other escaped." Note: This is James F. Hensley, son of James Hensley & Elizabeth Maiden.
