The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** Will: Gorge Cloze, Culpeper Co, VA (1750) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Grge Cloze being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to allmighty God and callan to rembrance the uncertain state of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield? unto death when it shall please God to call, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First, being penetant and sorry for all my sins most humbly desiring forgiveness for the same, I commend my soul unto allmighty God, my saviour, and redeemer in whom and whose merits I trust and believe assuredly to be saved and to have full remission and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit the kingdom of heaven and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and for the settling of my temporal estate and such goods and chattels as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I do order, give and dispose of the same in manner and form following: Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife Barbara Cloze my houses and plantation also the use of all my goods and whatsoever during the time of her natural life time. Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Michael Cloze one hundred acres of land and a hose (house?, horse?). Thirdly, I give and bequeath unto my second son Peter Cloze, two hundred acres of land and a hose. Fourthly, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alesabat (Fare) one hu_______ acres of land and a cow and calf to be paid unto her out of my estate at the time of her being married. Fifthly and lastly, I do herewith constitute and appoint my loveing friend John Cloze and Mical Rossal to be my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all other former Bequeaths heretofore by me made and in order that this be my Last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd of November 1750.                                                         Gorge Cloze (L.S.) Sin'd, seal'd and delivered and declared to be his Last Will and Testament in presence of us: Mical X Rossal      mark John Cloze Michael Holt                     At a Court held for the County of Culpeper                        Thursday, the 19th day of September 1751 This Last Will and Testament of George Cloze was exhibited into court by John Cloze, one of the Executors therein named, proved by the oaths of Michael Holt and Michael Rossal, witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - the said Michael Rassel having just renounced his Executorship, the said Will being sworn to by the said John Cloze who gave security according to law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form - previous to which the court assigned Peter Weaver guardian to Michael Cloze Jan? (Junior?) heir and devised of the said Testator who is an order to contest the validity here of, if he thought fit, who came into court & declared he had no objection to make in behalf of the said heir at law against the said Will.                                                      Teste:                                                      Roger Dixon, Cl.Cur.
