First & principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it hoping through the death & passion of my blessed Lord & saviour Jesus Christ to receive full & free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins & for my body to ye ground to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. And for my temporal estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I give and dispose of in manner & forme following (viz): Imprimis: Itm (Item): I give & bequeath unto my beloved son James Connor all that tract of land & plantation whereon I now live to him & his heirs forever, it being four hundred acres, be the same more or less. Itm: I give &c to my beloved son William Connor a ring of gold. Itm: I give &c to my beloved daughter Margert Minn an equal part of my waring cloath. Itm: I give &c to my beloved daughter Ann Kelly an equal part of my waring cloath. Itm: I give &c to my beloved daughter Hannah Wood an equal part of my cloaths. Itm: I give &c to my daughter Elizabeth Lynch an equal part of cloaths. Itm: I give &c bequeath to my beloved daughter Sarah Balynger an equal part of my waring cloaths.  My desire is that my wering cloaths be equaly devided amongst all my daughters at my death. Itm: All the rest of my personal estate of what kinde so ever as well (as) negroes, as cattle, hogs, horses, and all my household furniture and the crops at my death, then made or making to him and his heirs forever. (not stated who "him" is) And lastly, my desire is that all my just debts be paid & discharged and my funeral expences by my said son James Connor who I constitute and appoint my whole & sole Executor of this my Last Will Testament revoking & disannulling all former and other Wills by me heretofore made & rattifying & confirmning this to be my Last Will & Testament. Mokes      mark John Hackley Judith Hackley                     At a Court held for the County of Culpeper                       Thursday, the 11th day of May 1751 This Last Will and Testament of Margaret Connor, dec'd, was exhibited into court by James Connor, the Executor therein named, was proved by the oaths of John Hackley and Judith Hackley, witnesses thereto, sworn to by the said James Connor and Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form, he having given security as the law directs, and it is ordered that William Connor heir at law to the Testatrix who resides in the County of Caroline be summoned to appear at the next court to contest the validity of the said will if he thinks fit. And                  At a Court held for the County of Culpeper                        Friday, the 22nd day of November 1751 The said William Connor, heir at law of the said Margaret, being duly summoned, declared he had no objections to make to the said Will therefore, the same is ordered to be recorded.                                                        Teste:                                                        Roger Dixon, Cl.Cur. It is not clear whether she meant 1744 or 1745.  The Wills in Book A are supposedly from 1749- 1770.Spelling errors were not corrected.  Paragraphing and some punctuation were added by transcriber for ease in reading.  There are no paragraphs in the original. Viz & vizt are abbreviations for videlicet which means "that is to say, namely".
