The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** Will: Lorance Gar, Bromfield Parish, Culpeper Co, VA (1753) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Larance Gar of the Parish of Bromfield and County of Culpepper being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory (thanks be to allmighty God for the same) do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First, I recommend my soul to God that gave it trusting and surely believing that through the meritt of my blessed saviour Jesus Christ, to receive full remission and forgiveness of all my sins, my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the direction of my Executors hereafter named. Imprimmis: I give unto my beloved wife Dorothea Gar two hundred and fifty acres of land with the planatation where I now do live.  Then after her decease, if she not maris but case she should marry, she is to stay no longer tele (till) my son John is of of (repeated) age. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife one hundred and fifty acres of land out of a tract of two hundred and ninety acres which I possess in my on (own) right tittle on the south river of Shannandoah tele after her decease. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Dorothea all personall estate or goods and chattels tele after her decease, if in case she doth not marry, but if she doth marry then she is to have the thirth part of all my personall estate or goods and chattels and I also give unto my beloved wife Dorothea one servant boy unto her and her heirs and the said servant is to have one year free of his servitute. Imprimmis: I give and bequeath unto my beloved sons John Gar and Andrew Gar the tract of land whereon I now do live with the plantation and houses to gatter (together) and two tracts of land more chining (adjoining?) to the said tract to gatter containing four hundred and fifty acres of land to be equally divided between my above said two sons, to them, there heirs forever.  And my above said son John is to have the first choise of the land.  I also give unto my son John one riffil gun to him and his heirs forever. Imprimmis: I give unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Gar two hundred acres of land to be tacken of a tract of four hundred acres which I possess unto hir and hir heirs forever.  The said land liying and being unter the foot of the Racket Mountain upon Husses (or Hussef) River. Imprimmis: I give unto my beloved daughter Eve Gar one hundred and fourty acres of land of the said my tract to be tacken of two hundred and ninty acres unto hir, hir heirs forever and after my beloved wife Dorothea Gar's decease, the said, my Daughter Eve Gar, is to have the hole tract of my two hundred and ninety acres of land unto hir, hir heirs forever lying and being in Augusta County on the south river of Shannandoah. And I will that all my personal estate or goods and chattels be equally divided between my sons & daughters after my wife, Dorothea Gar, decease or marrigh. Lastly, I make and ordain my beloved wife Dorothea Gar and my beloved brother Adam Gar Executor of this my Last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills by me made.
