First, I give my soul to allmighty God who gave it hoping by the previous merrits, death and passion of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, to receive free pardon for all my sins and as to my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give in manner and form following: Item: I give and bequeath to my loving son John Henderson my two negro slaves: Sarah and Sam during the term of his natural life and at his death: Item: I give and bequeath the said two negroe slaves to be equally divided with their increase among my three grandsons Joseph Henderson, John Henderson and William Henderson to be to them and the heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson Joseph Henderson when he comes to the age of twenty one years my negro slave Ben to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson John Henderson when he comes to the age of twenty one years my negro slave Jack to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson William when he comes to the age of twenty one years my two negro slaves Caesar & Hannah to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my loving son John Henderson free liberty to put all my land and keep same under his use dureing the term of his natural life, he paying the quit-rents and land tax . And I do by this my Last Will and Testament impower my son John Henderson to sell the above said land if he can get worth while and divide the money equally between himself and my three grandsons: Joseph Henderson, John Henderson and William Henderson, when either comes of age to them & their heirs forever. Item: If the abovesaid land is and remains unsold at the death of my son John Henderson, then I give & bequeath the same with every part & parcel thereof to be as equally divided among my three grandsons Joseph Henderson, John Henderson and William Henderson according to quantity and quality to them & their heirs forever. Item: As to my movable estate as household goods, slaves, mares, sheep and other stock, I leave to be equally divided among and between my son John Henderson and my three grandsons Joseph Henderson, John Henderson and William Henderson to them and their heirs forever when they come of age. And this is my Last Will and Testament, the Lord receive my soul.
