Frazee Cemetery Location: 2.4 miles north of Cumberland court House, Cumberland, Virginia on U.S. Route #60; thence left .9 mile on Route #45; thence right .3 mile from that route. Cumberland County DATE: Unknown. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There are three cemeteries in close proximity of the house. One is at the northwest of the house. There is only one tomb stone here with inscription: Ivanhoe Talley Born Nov. 29, 1850 Died by Poison, Jan. 19, 1858 Aged 7 years, 1 month & 21 days A few other graves are at the southwest corner of the yard. A slave cemetery is at the east of the house. The Dawson home has been in the family for nearly a hundred years. Through marriage into the Tate family years ago, the Dawson family is connected with the family of Mark Twain. Old slaves, now dead, told of high times during the ownership of Colonel Sims. He kept whiskey in the basement, and Dr. Frayser of Cartersville was a frequent visitor. SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Informants: Mr. F.H.
