Frazee Cemetery Location: 2.4 miles north of Cumberland Court House, Cumberland, Virginia on Route #60; thence northwest 11.9 miles on Route #45; thence west 11.2 miles on Route #16; thence east 2 miles from this route. After passing a sawmill site on the two mile road, turn east and continue .5 mile. Cumberland County DATE: About 1812 DESCRIPTION: The cemetery is north of the house and is surrounded by a brick wall. This is beginning to tumble down, and the brambles and underbrush are covering the graves. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Some of the inscriptions on the tombstones are as follows: In memory of Victoria A. wife of Walter S. Peters Youngest daughter of Elisha & Sallie Jackson Died in Richmond, Virginia, Nov. 24, 1858, Aged 27 years. A devoted wife, a fond and tender mother. An affectionate daughter and sister. The exalted qualities of her nature and Her strong faith were beautifully exhib- ited in the great composure and perfect Christian resignation she possessed in the trying hour of her death. Thy will, O Lord, not mine, be done O beauteous light on earth. Her lustre now radiant in the Courts of Heaven brightly reflects on sorrowed hearts here below. May we meet again Clarence Montgomery Infant son of Walter S. & Victoria A. Peters Died March 16, 1855 Aged 7 months In memory of Sallie Jackson wife of Elisha Jackson Born Dec. 19, 1785 Died Jan. 14, 1853 In the full assurance of a blissful Immortality. None knew her but to love her. None named her but to praise her. In memory of Mary L. wife of Michael Anderson Daughter of Elisha and Sallie Jackson Born Dec. 4, 1810 Died Feb. 19, 1860 Happy soule, thy days are ended. All thy mourning days below go By angel guards attended to the Sight of Jesus, go waiting to re- ceive thy spirit, go, the Saviour stands above, shows the purchase of his merit, reaches out the crown of love.
