Cemetery Location: About 8 miles north of Cumberland, Virginia Cumberland County It is said that “Rock Castle” was built by Thomas Nash two years before his death. He died in 1813, at the age of thirty-one. He was buried on the plantation. The house place was left to his nephew, Thomas P. Nash, at the death of his wife or at her second marriage. Back of the house nearly a mile down in the wood is a tombstone. It is an upright marble stone inscribed as follows: In memory of Thomas Nash Who departed this life September 26, 1813 Aged 31 years
