VA Deed Book 5 Page 158 28 Decmeber 1772 This indenture made this twenty eighth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy two between Henry Bell of the county of Amherst of the one part & Abraham chalton of the county of Cumberland of the other part witnesseth that the said Henry Bell for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred sixty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Abraham Chalton the receipt wherof is hereby confess'd & Acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Abrahma Chalton his heirs & assigns forvever one certain tract or parcel of land contining four hundred acres & being in the county of Cumberland among the branches of Willis River and bounded as followeth viz: Beginning at a Pine in Joseph Dabb's line running thence new lines north fifty degrees east two hundred & twenty six poles to pointers, north forty degrees, west two hundred & eighty four poles to pointers; thence on Henry Cary south fifty degrees west two hundred & twenty six poles to a white Oak thence on Joseph Dabb's south forty fegrees east two hundred & eight four poles to the first station together with all houses buildings wood underwoods ways waters & water courses profits commodities hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the smae of any part therof in any wisrt belonging etc. etc. etc. Submitted by Nancy Charlton **************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
