Charlton/Lee Deed, 1767 - Cumberland Co. VA Deed Book 4, page 198- 31 July 1767 This indenture made in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven and on the thirty first day of July between Abraham Chalton and Joseph Lee both of Cumberland county witnesseth that the said Abraham Chalton for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money of Virginia the receipt whereof he doth nearby acknowledge and hath granted bargained sold whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and hath granted bargained sold alienated released and confirmed and by these presents for himself and his heirs doth grant bargain sell alien releases and confirm unto the said Joseph Lee and his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel or tract of Land containing fifty acres it being a part of the parcel or tract of land whereon the said Chalton now lives situated lying and being in part of the parcel or tract of land whereon the said Chalton now lives situated lying and being in Cumberland county and on the north side of Great Guinea creek beginning at a corner beach on the north side Great Guinea creek thence on John Gannaways line north twenty degrees west one hundred and thiry four poles to a corner red oak thence north etc etc. Submitted by Nancy Charlton **************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
