Charlton/Davenport/Lee Deed, 1770 - Cumberland Co. VA 22 Jun 1770 Deed Book 4 Page 406 This Indenture made the twenty second day of June in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy between Abraham Chalton and and Thomas Davenport jr. of the parish of Southam and county of Cumberland of the one part and Richard Lee of the same parish and county of the other part witnesseth that the said Abraham Chalton and Thomas Davenport for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid the receipt wherof they doth hereby acknowledge and themselves to be therewith fully satisfied and paid hath given granted bargained sold alienated released and confirmed and bythese presents doth give grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said Richard Lee one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the parish and county aforesaid on the branches of Great Guinea creek containing two hundred acres be the same more or less including the plantation wehereon the said Abraham Chalton now lives and bounded as followeth beginning at corner pointers in Joseph and William Lees lines in a small bracnh on the northside Great Guineea creek thence on said William Lees line north twnety nine degrees and eighty poles to a corner white Oak in Browns line then on his line north fifty one poles to a Pine thence nintey five degrees east fifty two poles to a white oak thence north twenty eight and half degrees west one hundred and forty poles to pointers in Robert Johnses and Thomas Davenport lines thence on the said Davenports line south forty two degrees west two hundred and sixty nine poles to a white oak in John Gannaways line thence on his line north eighty degrees east seventy three poles to a white oak thence south sixteen degrees west sixty four poles to a Black Oak in Joseph Lees line thence on his line south seventy four degrees east to the first station with all houses eddifices woods underwoods waters water courses proffets commodities emoluments hereditaments and appurtences whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and proffits therof and of every part and aparcel therof and all thee estate right title interst claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Abraham Chalton and Thomas Davenport their and each of their heirs and assigns of in and to the same to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular its premises and appurtencances the said richard Lee his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Richard Lee his heirs and assigns forever and to and for not other use intent or purpose waht soever and the said tracut of land iwth the said Abraham chaltons plantation or dwelling place and all buildings houses orchards improvements benefits proffits advantages ways waters and every appurtenance whatsoever will to the said Richard lee his heirs and assignes confirm warrent and forever Submitted by Nancy Charlton **************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
