All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Troy Colquitt [telles@elberton.net] ************************************************************************ Anthony Colquitt To Robert Scruggs Deed Book 2, page 471& 472 (page 471) This Indenture made this 19th Day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine Between Anthony Colquitt of the Parrish of Southham and County of Cumberland of the one part and Robert Scruggs of the same County & Parish of the other part Witnesseth that the said Anthony Colquitt for and in Consideration of the sum of sixty pounds Currant Money to him and paid before the delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Anthony Colquitt doth hereby acknowledge hath granted sold release and confirmed and by these Presents doth grant sell release and confirm unto the said Robert Scruggs one certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing two hundred acres Land lying in the said County of Cumberland formerly Goochland on Deep Creek being part of four hundred acres Patanted by William Moss bearing date the twenty second Day of September one thousand seven hundred and thirty nine and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at pointer on Andrew Cross's line Running thence on Andrew Cross North fifty Degrees East one hundred and ninty three poles thence North sixty five Degrees West two hundred and sixty Poles to pointer thence on John Tabor South sixty seven Poles to a Pine South sixty Degrees West eighty Poles to pointer thence to the first station. To have and hold the said Land and Premises with the appurtenances in Fee Simple unto the only Proper use of him the said Robert Scruggs his heirs and assigns forever against him the said Anthony Colquitt his heirs and assigns forever against the claim challenges or Demand of any other person or persons whatsoever.
