Cumberland Co., VA - Deed Book 7 Orange to Orange Deed, 1792 Lewis Orange - Deed Book 7 page 159 To: William Orange This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and ninety two between Lewis Orange of the County of Cumberland of the one part & Willam Orange (his son) of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Lewis Orange for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge doth grant bargain, & sell unto the said William Orange his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land Lying & being in the said County of Cumberland on Stamping branch a small fork of Little Guinea Creek containing one hundred & thirty five acres be the same more or less (it being the tract of Land the said Lewis Orange now dwells on) and bounded as follows to wit beginning at pointers on John Fords line running thence on Bird Farmers line South sixty nine and an half degrees west ninety four poles to pointers south seventy nine degrees west forty eight poles to pointers south five degrees east seventy seven poles to a white oak Sapling on Thomas Moore on his line to pointers on Henry Martin thence on Lewis Orange Jun'r North four & an half degrees East forty nine poles to pointers North twenty degrees East fifty Eight poles to a pine North three and an half degrees east sixty poles to pointers north thirty four degrees east forty four poles to a post oak thence on the said John Fords lines to the beginning To have & to hold the said tract of Land and appurtenances unto the said William Orange his Heirs and assigns forever & the said Lewis Orange for himself and his heirs doth covenant with the said William Orange his heirs & assigns that he the said Lewis Orange and his heirs the aforesaid tract of land and all the appurtenances "hereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining "hereunto unto the said William Orange his heirs & assigns shall & will warrant & forever defend In witness whereof he the said Lewis Orange hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day & year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of } Lewis + Orange At a Court held for Cumberland County the 26th March 1792 This Indenture of Bargain & Sale from Lewis Orange to William Orange was acknowledged & ordered to be recorded Teste Miller Woodsson *********************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jimmy L.
