Oakley/Oakley Deed, 1850 Transcribed from originals at Cumberland County, Va Deed book 29 pages 60 & 61& 62 Calvin C. Oakley to Deed Thos G Oakley I Calvin C.. Oakley have this day bargained and sold and hereby transfer, convey, assign, release, relinquish, surrender and confirm unto Thomas G. Oakley all my right, title, interest and claim in and to the real estate, of my paternal grandfather Shadrack Oakley, lately of the county of Cumberland and state of Virginia, deceased , the real estate of said Shadrack Oakley to which I am entitled, is my share of a lot of land in said County of Cumberland drawn by the heirs of my father Francis Oakley decd and the boundaries of said lot can be ascertained by reference to the record of _______ court of Cumberland County, in the matter of the division of the real estate of Shadrack Oakley decd. To have and to hold the interest above conveyed and described to said Thomas G. Oakley and his heirs and assigns forever. For myself my heirs and representatives I covenant with ___ Thomas G. Oakley his heirs and representative to warrant and forever defend the title of the interest in the lot of land above conveyed and described to said Thomas G. Oakley his heirs, heirs and assign against the lawful claim of every person. Given under my hand and seal this 25th day of March 1850. C. C. Oakley Calvin C. Oakley with whom I am personally acquainted this day appeared before me a Justice of the Peace for the County of Madison in the state of Alabama and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed by him to Thomas G. Oakley on the day of its date and further purposes therein contained. Given under my hand and private seal there being no official seal this 25th day of March 1850. R. D.
